A Bestiary of Nouns
In the 14th and 15th centuries “Terms of Venery” were used by snobbish, upper-class, hunters to describe groups of animals. “A Bestiary of Nouns” explores the collective nouns of groups of animals, and how these terms have become an ironic reflection of their mistreatment. Once terms used to flaunt class status, these nouns now serve as an uneasy reminder of the arrogance of humans.
