Give me some positivity
Despite the broad adoption of safer sex within the community of men who have sex with men, “barebackers” don’t use condoms and “bug chasers” seek to acquire HIV. Why?
Is it because of a lack of information, or are there deeper social and psychological reasons?
1.Stress of not knowing your HIV status and trying to get relief by being positive
2.Family exclusion
3.Religious stigma creates feelings of shame and guilt
4.Homophobia causes some of its victims to be masochists to fear and danger
5.Condom-less sex as a replacement for lack of intimacy
6.Finding a community and creating a subculture
7.HIV gives him an identity that he never had
8. Masculinity pressure
9.Childhood trauma
