“Warped View” examines the origin of Wi-fi technology, and how it was actually created as a byproduct of its original purpose: to detect black holes. “Crystal Contour” travels back to the first interpretation of what makeup was, and how early Egyptians would use crushed up gems and jewels. “Pinky Promise” looks at, of course, pinky promises. This morbid take on the seemingly innocent tradition is due to the origin, and how the Japanese mafia would sever pinkies if they acted dishonorably. “Veiled Protection” showcases the original purpose of a bride’s veil: to protect her from evil spirits on her wedding day. “Trick-or-Treat” is a literal take on the origin of why we dress up on Halloween, which is in order to blend in with spirits and monsters for the night where our world and theirs converge. “Lucky Clover” is about the classic good luck charm, a four-leaf-clover, and although considered lucky today, it was once said to be coveted by witches and used in their spells. “Balloon Animals” uncovers the grisly origin of early balloons, and how the Aztecs made them out of animal bladders and intestines to present to their gods as sacrifice. “Smokey Scent” is about how perfume was not originally a cosmetic, but instead used in churches to cover up the smell caused by burning animal flesh for sacrifice. “My Valentine” explores the origin behind the romantic Valentines day, and how it was named after St. Valentine, who wed couples despite it being outlawed, and was decapitated for it. “Holy Variety” takes a common contraption, the vending machine, and transforms it back into what the earliest rendition of a vending machine was said to be: a holy water dispensary.
