Tripwire & Silly sting – 80,000 cans of silly string were sent to troops in Iraq to detect tripwires. Fiestaware – During WWI, Fiestaware discontinued their red-orange kitchenware due to the shortage on uranium oxide needed for atomic bombs. Ceramic Bomb – During WWII, Unit 731 produced biological and chemical weapons. Ceramic bombs were one of the weapons that were created by Unit 731 that carried plague-infected fleas. Airplane Glue & Animal Bones – In WWII leftover bones were made into glue for airplane construction. Naval Rope & Abaca Plant – During 1941 Japan occupied the Philippines, which gave Japan access to many agricultural resources. Abaca is one of the resources that the Japanese used for rope and twine. Stockings & Parachutes – In WWII women had to donate their old stockings due to the shortage of materials to make parachutes.
