Self-isolation and excessive use of electronics leads to substance abuse. It combines contemporary and historical elements including social media, video games, marijuana, pipe, and carpet. Human turns into wood because of sitting at home for a long time. It depicts the dramatic moment when the person becomes a traditional Chinese wooden chair. Self-isolation leads to excessive eating and turns human into monsters. It makes the surroundings become more “monster-like” and emphasizes its harmfulness. Heart pressure caused by self-isolation is depicted by snake wine as a metaphor. Human doing yoga but limited by loss of muscle mass and energy. It is restricted by the Chinese knot and the peaceful environment is ruined by the surrounding dust and smoke. The sunflower man is attracted by the screen indoor instead of the sun with repetitive daily routine staying at home. The illusion of charging either battery or humane energy is depicted by using cable instead of thread to make Chinese embroidery. Chinese traditional silk balls, which float away along the sewer or bathtub, represent the loss of memory. Self-isolation harms memorizing skills and it affects human body in this surreal world. Terrible sleeping quality caused by self-isolation and personal pattern design is depicted in this illustration. It uses mahjong as a metaphor for bed with a red eye as one dot. Close ROOT To address the need that humans have for connection to others, it illustrates the disadvantages of self-isolation by combining ancient Chinese cultural artifacts and contemporary life in a surrealistic way.
