Far Away
My theme kind of evolved into an appreciation for the development of landscapes and the vastness of nature, eventually becoming an expression of wanderlust. There’s a natural quality of the outdoors that really feeds a certain part of our souls and appeals heavily to the emotional impact of a scene in our minds; this piece expresses the nostalgia of adventure, and for places that embody certain emotions for the viewer. I wanted to take both from memory, real-life, and imagination to develop a place that expresses the feelings I get from a specific memory from my childhood, when the world felt so much larger and more magical than I could fully understand. Clouds are billowing and voluminous, mountains are distant and golden, the vegetation is lush, and the world is saturated and full of life.
