This series encapsulate a marriage of paradox, chaos and structure, through multiple interpretations of the source considering negative space, composition, color and crop of the object.
A torn piece of gauze, is organized into shapes in order to study the different structured patterns that emerge from the cluster. The observations are rendered through digital and analogue means. Mixed media additionally conveys the unity of an organic element, paint, with a mechanical tool, being digital manipulation, as a sort of chaos and structure in its own way. Different crops such as in the second piece of the installment, holds a more intimate view with the confrontational interlacing of threads. The natural pattern in the fabrication of the gauze can be observed, exposing otherwise overlooked threadwork details. The color palette additionally takes us out of the reality of the object, urging us to reflect on the aesthetic qualities of the picture. It further highlights the object’s interaction with negative space, capturing the delicacy of fine threads contrasting the lighter background.
