Art Board
“Art speaks to those who look.”
Art Board is a reference to consumerism. It is a visual representation of how we look into advertisements, social media, and our dependence on technology. I placed an imaginary billboard within a desert environment, while the image on the board is an abstract painting. The size of the billboard is the size of a phone, while the placement of the art is quite impractical. Comparing and combining abstract with reality, it puts into question the influence of these devices and their hypnotizing effects. It creates this illusion of galleries and museums, where we value and praise art. But in the case of today’s society, we are praising the digital world. Our reliance on technology, social media, and inanimate objects becomes the permanent target of our interest.
