This series is based on the concept of childhood, specifically my own childhood. When I was a kid, one of the really significant memories I have about my dad was his “Tuesday Treat Days.” Every Tuesday, my dad would pick up candy on the way home from work for my sister and I. As a tribute to my dad and the happy memories I have with him revolving around candy, I created five paintings. One portrait of my dad and I when I was a kid, and four smaller candy paintings to accompany the portrait. I tried to make them bright, colourful, and happy, bringing up the saturation of the portrait painting greatly to match the candy paintings and the nature of the memories I have with my dad.
